This meeting explores the expanded landscape of the Networked Car, moving beyond outward WiFi and cellular connections to encompass the complex internal and external communication systems from the TPMS sensor up to Low Earth Orbit. The discussion will feature topics like V2X, 5G, OTA updates, in-vehicle networks, and cybersecurity. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on the latest trends while connecting directly with startup leaders and potential partners shaping the future of automotive technology.
Telecom Council members representing major telcos and their telecom vendor partners meet monthly in Silicon Valley to review new technologies and a handful of telecom, wireless, and IoT companies and solutions coming out of the technology industry's entrepreneurial community across the globe. This month, we open our meeting to the public to talk about the challenges, opportunities and innovation around the Networked Car.
In this joint meeting with the Autotech Council, we delve into the rapidly evolving world of the Networked Car. For years, the concept often centered on “The Connected Car”, and the massive innovation provided by basic Wi-Fi or even cellular links, primarily coming from electric vehicles. Today, however, the landscape has dramatically transformed. The "Networked Car" now encompasses a layered stack of connections – starting within the vehicle itself, to between vehicles, to the infrastructure such as cities or EV chargers, to the cloud, and even to the power grid. And these widely practical connections are reshaping the owner experience for all new vehicles, not just EVs. Our upcoming meeting reflects this broadened scope, exploring the diverse wired and wireless networks critical to modern automotive design and function.
This agenda opens with insights and trends on the connected car market, with fireside chat and panel to hear from experts in this segment. Then, as with all Autotech Council meetings, we go into technology pitches. Expect plenty of time for networking and of course startup introductions and technology demos.
