COMTECH FORUM ON OPEN SOURCE TELECOM

Telecom Council Forums meet monthly to discover new companies and technologies, meet partnership prospects in person, review market opportunities across telecom, and learn from their colleagues who are leading the communications industry into the future. This month our Startup Review has sections of the agenda for 3 of our Forums - SPIF, Investor Forum and ComTech Forum. Because membership in each Forum is limited, delegates who register will be automatically assigned to the meetings to which their Forum applies. Check your confirmation email for the times of your session.

Kicking off our meeting at Aviat Networks, Sean Seaton, VP Global Innovation and Partnerships at Rogers, spoke about a radical rethink of the role of network operators. Passing the baton on to our panel, Christos Kolias, Principal at Orange, Andile Ngcaba, Chairman & Founder at Convergance Partners. Arpit Joshipura, GM Networking & Orchestration at Linux Foundation and Sanjay Aiyagari, Sr. Solutions Architect, Telecommunications & NFV at Red Hat debated if the future of communications growth is from OTT initiatives, or from the big players (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Google, etc.), then network operators need to consider how to be excellent partners to these innovators. How else to continue to share in the revenues of the applications and services ecosystems? Using Open technologies and APIs can provide innovators with the tools to integrate the network into their offerings.

Thank you to Aviat Networks for hosting, and to our expert speakers for their insight.
