Carrier members of the Telecom Council’s Service Provider and CVC and VC members from out Investor Forum meet quarterly to hear startup pitches and to discuss current investing and telecom trends in an executive-format 1/2 day meeting. Participants will hear from 5-8 presenting startups, each with 20 minutes to present and 10 minutes for questions. Dialogue before and after presentations, during breaks, and over lunch ensures that all participants have an opportunity to connect and have private conversations. Our quarterly Investor Forum meeting serves 3 main purposes:
- To connect Service Provider members who are investing time, energy, and often capital into telecom startups to the larger telecom-focused venture community. Our quarterly participants include our SPiF members (from AT&T to Vodafone and from DoCoMo to SK Telecom), the telecom vendor community (from Intel Capital and Qualcomm Ventures to Nokia Growth Partners and Sony).
- To review pre-qualified telecom startups for new products and services, and investment opportunities
- To initiate dialogue and relationships between all the investors in telecom – including the carriers, the vendors, the VCs, and the entrepreneurs.
We maintain the executive and intimate nature of these events by making them available only to our Telecom Council Investor Forum members and their guests. Participants include venture capital firms, corporate capital, angels, investment groups from the Service Provider Forum including AT&T, British Telecom, NTT, DoCoMo, France Telecom, Swisscom, Vodafone and many other fixed and wireless carriers from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Though we encourage companies who can add value to these meetings to join the Council, we can accommodate invited guests for $300. Full details on the Investor Forum, the Service Provider Forum, and these meetings can be found at http://www.telecomcouncil.com/memberforum.php. If you would like to attend or send a colleague, but are not yet a member of the Investor Forum, invitations may be requested by responding to this e-mail or calling the Council at 408-834-7933. There are still presenter openings for this meeting. Startups who are interested in presenting to this forum, need to use the “speaker application” form at the Telecom Council website, www.telecomcouncil.com/speakers.php
