Telecom Council of Silicon Valley offers sponsorship opportunities to help increase the visibility and offer promotional channels for members and non-members too. If your company wants to get in front of the telecommunications community in our region, then we can work with you to design a custom program, and make that introduction or deepen your existing relationship.

The list below outlines some of our more standard sponsorship options. Each of these can be tweaked to make the fit you need, or we can work on creating a completely new event or program just for you.

Weekly Trend Analysis

The Telecom Council has a program that delivers a professional Telecom Trend Analysis report to members at Level 3 and up. Produced by Techdirt, a respected analysis and "digester" of relevant news, the Trend Analysis is a unique sponsorship opportunity. Sponsors can support a quarterly or longer production run of the weekly missive with exclusive promotional billing.


Monthly Newsletter

Our monthly newsletter is a valuable piece of real-estate for getting a message out to our entire membership. We have a variety of one-off or recurring options for placement in this newsletter.


Individual Meetings

The Telecom Council can work with a sponsor to design and create an entire meeting, summit, or mini-conference around their products, services, portfolio, etc. For example, Navteq has worked with us to build an event around their developer community. The Israeli government has worked with us to host a roadshow of a group of wireless startups, and Norwest Venture Partners chose us to build an expo day with strategic investors and their portfolio telecom companies.


Keynote Addresses

If you have something to say to our membership, we can get you in front of the right audience. Our only filter in these cases is that we always make sure there is value for the audience in the speech.


Social Events

Through the year, the Telecom Council presents a variety of social events, cocktails, awards events, etc. There are standard sponsorship opportunities for each of these.


Annual Awards

We are currently preparing annual awards ceremonies, with our first being the SPIFFYS. The SPIFFYS are the awards for the best startups that we have seen the preceding year at our Service Provider and Investors Forums. Winners will be chosen by investment arms of telcos, large equipment vendors, and VCs from the telecom sector that make up the membership of the Forums. This event is mostly for fun, and will reunite some great startups with telcos, VCs, and OEMs.


Business Plan Competition

As part of our Entrepreneurs Forum, we encourage the startups to submit their business plans to our password-protected database. From that database, we have a panel of judges evaluate the best Plans of the year, and offer recognition to the winners. The entire competition is to be sponsored each year by a single, or a pair of sponsors.


Webinars

Some of our events, keynotes, panels, etc. will be re-broadcast as webinars through our website. There is an opportunity to be the sponsor of the webcast of the event, which reaches a global audience looking in at telecom in Silicon Valley. But there is also the opportunity to offer web-only events that allow participation from members in the Valley, or a wider audience. These can also be sponsored.


Seminars

Seminars build around a specific topic make great sponsorship opportunities for companies very active in that space. For example, Intel might choose to sponsor a WiMAX seminar, or Navteq for LBS. Of course, that's not the limit of it. Yankee Group could chose to sponsor a VoIP seminar as a marketing vehicle for a report on the subject area. We can work with you on using existing seminars, or on developing one for you. As always, our only filter is that the event has to provide value to the membership.


Market Research

The Telecom Council of Silicon Valley can leverage it’s membership to aggregate information about activity in the industry. We can survey our members, have discussions on a topic, use our network of contacts to execute a full primary research program. Our preference is to then share the results with the community, but we accept sponsorships for research, and we can offer the sponsors some period of exclusivity for the results.


Forums

The Telecom Council has activities for the general membership, but also has a series of Forums (sometimes called SIGs in other orgs). These Forums are build around a thematic unifier, such as the Service Providers Forum for carriers, and the Investors Forum for VCs and corporate capital groups. Each Forum needs to have leadership from a Chairperson, and is a vehicle for sponsorship from a leading player in the thematic sector. An example would be an LBS forum sponsored by Navteq. While the sponsor would get increased visibility, the Forum would remain impartial and would welcome the sponsor's competitors and partners alike to participate.


Website

Our website is light on advertising by design, yet we can support standard advertising banner and tower ad formats for website sponsors. Our high traffic pages are the calendar and the directory.


Demonstrator Events

Our Demo-Day events are normally centered around technology themes, but we can adapt this event to accomodate certain vendors and their partners. Related sponsorship opportunities include advertising, booths and speaking elements and are generally limited to the member companies. There will be several sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with each event.


In-Kind Sponsorships

We're always looking for partners to barter facilities, catering, publicity, growth prospects, and such. If you can provide a direct benefit to our membership or Council, then we should talk.
