Become a Member




With a base of over 8000 telecom professionals, sponsorship opportunities are as varied as our membership. Below are some existing sponsorship opportunities and if you have other ideas, we can easily work with our sponsors to find the best way to interact with any or all of the segments we support. Drop us an email with questions or ideas.


The only restriction we make is that our sponsors must offer a message that delivers value or does not detract value for our membership during our meetings. Our primary responsibility is always to deliver value to the membership, and only with that priority can we also be a trusted venue for sponsors.


Individual Meetings

The Telecom Council works with sponsors to design and create an entire meeting or seminar around their products, services, portfolio, etc.  Our individual meeting sponsorship successes include:  An Israeli association which brought a road show to introduce Israeli wireless startups to investors, Kotra introduced several of their Korean startups at a Handset Forum meeting, and KT & NTT launched their international Venture Forum with the Telecom Council(attendee list here).


Keynote Addresses

Simple, short, and direct - If you have a person or an idea that you want to share with one of our audience segments, the Council is here to collaborate with you. Keynotes are typically highly targeted 2 hour sessions. Qualcomm recently brought COO Len Lauer to the Valley for this type of meeting and the attendee list (online here) speaks for itself.


SPIFFY Awards

The SPIFFY Awards celebrate the best startups and entrepreneurs who have flowed through the Telecom Council meetings during the preceding year. Winners are determined by the votes of the Council’s Service Provider Forum members. Sponsors of these Awards, like Velocity Interactive Group, get targeted publicity with telecom entrepreneurs and investors worldwide.


Seminars

Seminars are generally 3-5 hour sessions built around a specific topic. These sessions make great opportunities for sponsors to invite several companies to speak in support of their sponsorship objective. The Council worked with Navteq to build a meeting to connect LBS investors with their developer community. As always, our only requirement to build sponsored seminars is that the event has to provide value to the member base.


Demonstration Meetings

Our Demo Day events are normally centered on technology themes, but we can adapt to accommodate certain vendors and their partners. Related sponsorship opportunities include advertising, display table and speaking elements and are generally limited to the member companies. There may be several sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with each event. KOTRA brought 7 Korean handset related startups over to demo during our Annual Handset Innovation Review. Community Research

The Telecom Council community contains a vast wealth of information and intelligence stored in people’s heads. Occasionally, we tap into the membership with crowdsourcing or survey programs. Immersion did such a survey for research on haptics, and Swisscom did to crowdsource potential vendors for RF filters. Our sponsors can leverage our community to poll real-time trends, moods, feedback, and opinions on the markets that affect them. Our tools include surveys, LinkedIn questions, online chats, and full-scale primary research. Research is generally shared, at least in part, with membership upon completion.


Forums

Each of our 5 Forums (described here) has a sponsor. Benefits of sponsoring a Forum include branding and association at every Forum meeting, meeting chair positions, choosing the Forum’s chairperson, directing its activities, meeting topics, and speakers. While Forum sponsors, like Adobe, get increased visibility, our Forums remain impartial and welcome competitors and partners alike.


Monthly Newsletter

Our monthly newsletter offers a valuable way to get a message out to our base of over 11,000 telecom professionals. We have a variety of one-off or recurring options for placement in this newsletter.


Product Promotion

A unique way to get your product in the hands of our members- sponsor a Council meeting by providing give-aways, door prizes, or raffle prizes.


In-Kind Sponsorships

We're always looking for partners to barter facilities, catering, publicity, growth prospects, and such. If you can provide a direct benefit to our membership or Council, then we should talk.
