The Telecom Council of Silicon Valley offers many services to help local telecom companies connect, communicate, and collaborate with each other and globally.

Many of the services listed here are free to our members and available to non-members for a fee. If you have needs or ideas that are not covered by these, we are happy to work with you to fulfill them. Ready to put this professional network to work for you? Then contact us to get started with any of these services.

Startup Investor Presentations

The Telecom Council of Silicon Valley provides many opportunities for startup companies to present to target audiences. The marquee audience for these presentations is the monthly SPiF meeting, the Service Provider investment Forum. In the SPiF, Senior (VP and up) delegates representing telcos and other operators R&D and investment divisions listen to pitches from smaller companies interested in deals. Startups may also find themselves presenting at any other Telecom Council of Silicon Valley event, like a cocktail event, or the Investor Forum’s meetings. There’s lots of opportunity to get your ideas in the right ears.

Road-shows

The Telecom Council organizes traveling Road-shows, in which we take a handful of member companies, and set up meetings in other key cities, like NYC, Tokyo, or London. Road-shows provide an exclusive opportunity for companies to present their case to investors and potential partners/customers outside the Valley. Many companies have gained advantage of this tremendous package in securing investments and customers. Get in the queue using this form.

Business Matchmaking

Telecom Council offers personal introductions and business matchmaking services. We have strong connections among our members in Silicon Valley, and with industry leaders outside of the Telecom Council, too. We can offer quality personal introductions to our members who commit at the upper levels of membership. Our only filter is we can offer introductions only if it is beneficial for both the parties. This service is offered to level 4 members and up.

Day in the Valley Tour, topic specific

Many foreign trade associations, chambers of commerce, trade promoters, regional associations, etc. all want to have a higher visibility for their members in Silicon Valley, and as such, prepare Road Shows or Trade Junkets to California to meet as many people as they can. We work with such groups (ex: WinBC in Canada, the Israeli Government) to make sure their time in the Bay Area is well-spent. We help prepare the agenda, prepare the visiting companies, and arrange the right audience, or the right stops on a tour.

Other uses for this service is when an executive group comes from abroad to “see what’s going on” in Silicon Valley. We can help prepare the local stops on the tour, and make sure the meetings are as productive as they can be.

Technology Demos

Join the Telecom Council for this event where we see live demos of products ranging from alpha versions to products that already have market traction. We just want you to wow us. Members have the opportunity to present their demo, or to enjoy the demos of others. This will be a member-only audience, but non-members, who make it through the application process, may present for a fee. Request more info here.

Telecom Trend Analysis

Being in the thick of the things and well connected with the telecom ecosystem, Telecom Council brings to you industry trend analysis that you won’t find anywhere else. Presented in a format like a weekly newsletter, the Trend Analysis looks at some key news, and provides a brief layer of analysis and “so what” commentary. We then open up the discussion area for our members to chime in with their opinions. Currently, these analyses are being used by top financial firms, VC’s, large companies, and top-level executives to interpret industry trends, and to suss out what to expect from the future. The Trend Analysis is included at membership level 3 and above.

Local Product & Service Directory

As a service to all our members, and as a way for them to quickly connect directly with each other for deal-making, we offer the Directory. In it, you will find a searchable database of all our members, their products and services, and how to contact them.

Executive Insight Access

The Telecom Council's Executive Forum presents Executive Insights. This is a web community where executives from the industry (worldwide) are already sharing their perspective of the future of telecom. This is an executive member-only benefit, as this forum has strict seniority requirements. If you're a senior executive who would like to bash around ideas with your peers, then this service is not to be missed.

Market Research

The Telecom Council of Silicon Valley can leverage it’s membership to aggregate information about activity in the industry. We can survey our members, have discussions on a topic, use our network of contacts to execute a full primary research program. Once compiled, we share the results with the community. Companies who want to guide some research, can inquire regarding sponsoring opportunities.

News Distribution

This website has a section that covers local industry news. Members can post their company and product news, press releases, and articles in this publicly indexed news tool to help them get the word out.

Online Library

Our members-only online library, is a place to both post and peruse information. Documents like research abstracts, PowerPoint files from events, white papers, articles, specs, developer resources, SDKs, market data, survey results, Telecom Council research reports will be catalogued in the library for members to access.

Business Plan Competitions

Startup members of the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley can get valuable feedback on their business by submitting their Plan into the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley Business Plan competition. Plans will be judged by a panel of experts from larger member companies, VCs, and execs with exits in their past. This competition has a telecom focus and the benefits are part pitch, part advisory, and prestige for the winners. Get your bragging rights here

Personal Introductions

If you are not a Telecom Council member and want matchmaking or specific introductions with businesses in the Silicon Valley telecom industry, then this is the right service for you. Of course, we do the matchmaking only if we see value for both the parties. Please fill out the form here to contact us on this service.

Seminars & Webinars

Telecom Council of Silicon Valley will have half-day thematic seminars around various topics of interest in the telecom community. Whether the topic be Passive Optical Networks, RFID, or IMS, our members are leaders in these subjects, and can provide a rich learning environment. Seminars may be members-only, or may be open to public and press to help our members gain visibility.

Our website provides members with access to online versions of major events and speeches that we produce. We will offer audio and video of the most popular content such that we provide opportunity for people miss our events to keep themselves informed. Some members don’t want to spend an evening at a cocktail party, and we will provide the electronic tools to help them use the Telecom Council on their terms and schedule.

Member-Only Social Events

Telecom Council of Silicon Valley organizes the usual cadre of social networking options, including cocktail parties, awards ceremonies, and such. It’s a small world, after all, and why not reconnect with old colleagues, current partners, and future colleagues when the local industry gathers in one place.

Topic-Specific Meetings

If you would like to form/conduct a specific forum on a given topic then this is the service you would like to arrange. In the past we have organized forums such as LBS Investors meeting, WiMax/Broadband Seminar, and so on. We can also operate such meetings on a recurring basis, if the topic is deep enough. Please provide us with more information here and we will get in touch with you shortly.

Mentoring

Our members get full advantage from our industry experts, working executives, and seasoned veterans who can provide priceless advice to their businesses. If you would like to take advantage of this incredible opportunity apply now for membership. In addition if you would like to be a Mentor to our less experienced members, let us know.

Forum Creation

Forums are sub-groups within the greater Telecom Council organization, each focused around a particular theme. Current examples include the Service Provider Forum for carriers, the Investors Forum for VCs and corporate investors, the Entrepreneur Forum and the Executive Forum. Described here. When we find enough latent interest around a group or topic, or when our membership desires it, we will create new forums. These forums can be exclusive, or open, and are usually run by a Chairperson and a Steering Committee, and often supported by a Sponsor.
